The Role of Women in the Church: What the Bible Teaches

What a controversial topic. When it comes to women preachers, you will have different denominations; and non-denominational churches (Christians), disagree on this subject. And before I share my thoughts with you, based on the bible, hear what the following scriptures say… Philippians 1:15-18 “What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and this, (the apostle Paul), I rejoice, yes and will rejoice.”. I wanted you to see Apostle Paul’s viewpoint on what’s most important to ministry. The Gospel of Jesus IS preached. In looking at his motives, you see it really doesn’t make a difference in the overall big picture. Christ Must Be Preached. Jesus addresses another situation that his disciples were concerned about; In Mark 9:38-40, Jesus says, “Do not forbid him, for NO ONE who works a miracle in my name can soon after speak evil of Me. For he who is not against us is on our side.” Now according to the order of leadership, the bible says men are to have leadership over the woman. 1^st Timothy 2:12-13, “I do not permit a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence. For Adam was formed first, then Eve.” Also, the prophetess Deborah tried not to lead the men in battle, and stated in Judges 4:9, “I will surely go with you; nevertheless, there will be no glory for you… for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” My view on this subject is this, God’s perfect Will is to have men lead women spiritually. However, His permissive Will is He allows women to lead if that will get His desired outcome. Which is Christ Must Be Preached
